Kevin Durant is out for Game 3

0 6

The Warriors will once again be without their two-time defending Finals MVP.

Superstar Kevin Durant has been ruled out for Game 3 of the 2019 NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

The Warriors were holding out hope that Durant - who has won Finals MVP in each of the last two seasons - would return for Wednesday’s Game 3 at Oracle Arena in Oakland. But Durant’s calf injury will keep him sidelined for at least one more game.

Durant has been out since straining has calf in a non-contact injury in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Houston Rockets. In his absence, the Warriors have gone 6-1, but his presence has been sorely missed in the NBA Finals, where the Raptors have often put the clamps on Golden State’s offense.

With the injuries mounting up for the Warriors, Durant’s eventual return - if it happens - would be monumental. But until then, the Warriors will have to do what they did in Game 2, and find a way to win even without the walking bucket.
