DeMarcus Cousins received a league warning for flopping

Boogie received the warning following Wednesday’s game.

The Golden State Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies 118-103 on Wednesday night, but it wasn’t a flawless performance. One of the imperfections came from DeMarcus Cousins, who got caught flopping.

On Thursday, the league announced that Cousins had been issued a warning for violating the anti-flopping rule. Cousins appeared to exaggerate a reaction to a forearm from Jonas Valanciunas when the two were jockeying for rebounding position.

There is no punishment for Cousins as it is his first warning. However, if the league determines that he breaks the anti-flopping rule a second time this year, he will be fined $5,000.

According to Drew Shiller of NBC Sports Bay Area, Cousins is just the fourth player this season to receive a warning, joining Patrick Beverley of the Los Angeles Clippers, Dennis Schroder of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers.

With the warning, Boogie joins Draymond Green (who is two technical fouls away from a suspension) as Warriors players who are trying to avoid league punishment.
