Jack, a 13-year veteran, has not played this season. He last played in 2017-18, when he appeared in 62 games for the New York Knicks, and averaged 7.5 points and 5.6 assists per game.
Warriors fans, of course, remember Jack from his one-year stint with the team during the 2012-13 season. Jack played fairly well during that time, averaging 12.9 points and 5.6 assists per game, while shooting 40.4 percent from three-point range. However, not all the memories are pleasant, as Mark Jackson repeatedly entrusted Jack with late game isolations, even with . . . you know . . . Steph Curry on the team.
Still, it’s great to see him trying to get back into the league, and if he plays well in the G League, an NBA team could sign him for the remainder of the season and the playoffs. Miami would seem to be a contender to do so, as the Heat entered the season with only two point guards: Tyler Johnson, who has since been traded, and Goran Dragic, who has only played in 18 games due to injury.
So if Jack performs well, watch out . . . he could be headed for a 14th NBA season.
