[Women's Basketball] Tigers dominate in win over No. 25 UPike
Georgetown College women's basketball trailed only once and the game was tied twice as the Tigers tallied a 75-63 win Friday in the quarterfinal round of the 2019 Mid-South Conference Tournament.
GC was the only high seed to advance to Sunday's semifinal showdown. The women will play fourth-seeded Shawnee State University 1 pm at the Eastern Kentucky Expo Center. The last time the Tigers advanced out of the quarterfinals was 2013-14 when they lost in the finals to Campbellsville University.
Hailey Ison scored two of her team-high 18 points to break the final tie with two seconds left in the third. The basket started an 11-2 run that all but put the game away. Georgetown's lead grew to 17 twice in the fourth quarter as the team never looked back.
