Jason Richardson gave Kevin Durant the All-Star MVP trophy

0 9

Thursday night was a special night for Warriors fans.

Golden State Warriors fans were treated to something special on Thursday night, when former fan favorite Jason Richardson presented current fan favorite Kevin Durant the 2019 NBA All-Star Game MVP trophy.

Durant first received the award after the All-Star Game on Sunday, but was presented the trophy in front of his home fans before Thursday’s game against the Sacramento Kings.

Durant was spectacular in his 10th All-Star game, scoring 31 points and leading Team LeBron past Team Giannis. He collected his second All-Star Game MVP, which can sit on his trophy shelf next to his two NBA Finals MVPs, and his regular season MVP.

J-Rich also knows a thing or two about strong All-Star weekend performances. Despite never being selected to the All-Star Game, the 2001 lottery pick competed in three Slam Dunk Contests, and had back-to-back wins in 2002 and 2003. He is one of the better contest dunkers in NBA history.

It’s been a lot of fun to see beloved former players come out and get celebrated with the success of the current Warriors dynasty.
