The Kansas Wesleyan women's basketball team is ranked No. 18 in NAIA Division II as the latest edition of the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Top 25 Coaches Poll was released on Tuesday by the National Office in Kansas City, Mo.

This marks the first time that the Coyotes have been ranked in the NAIA Top 25 since January 5, 2016, when KWU was ranked No. 23. KWU has been receiving votes for several weeks this season before sliding into this week's Top 25.

Wesleyan's highest ever rank was in the 2011-12 preseason poll when the Coyotes were ranked No. 4 in the country.

Two other teams from the KCAC are also ranked in the Top 25 in Tabor (No. 11) and Sterling (No. 17). Wesleyan earned 125 points in the poll, while Sterling, who is a half-game back of KWU in the conference standings earned 129.

The Coyotes head to North Newton on Wednesday to take on Bethel then host 11th-ranked Tabor on Saturday.

Concordia (Neb.) remains No. 1 in the latest edition of the 2018-2019 NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, receiving nine of the 12 possible first-place votes. Northwestern (Iowa) and Indiana Tech also stood pat at Nos. 2 and 3 respectively while Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) and Southeastern (Fla.) swapped spots to round-out the top five.
