[Women's Bowling] Flames take second at Bronco Baker Bash

HASTINGS, Neb. – The Flames are bowling their best when it counts.

The College of Saint Mary Bowling Team took second place at the Bronco Baker Bash this weekend. After posting a score of 3,217 in 20 Baker games on Saturday, the Flames bowled another 16 Baker games Sunday and finished with a two-day total of 4,516.

Hastings College won the tournament with a 4,944. Iowa Western Community College took third with 4,194, Wayne State was fourth with 3,644 and Kansas State placed fifth with 2,311.

"We had a great event," CSM Coach Tony Manna said. "Our performance both days was very consistent. We did a good job with our execution and spare shooting throughout the event.

"I'm very proud of the effort the ladies put in to get to this point."

The Flames will continue practicing, but will have to wait and see if their season will continue. The USBC ITC Sectionals are March 8-10 and only the top 64 teams qualify based on a point system. CSM is currently ranked 68th in the point system.
