[Men's Basketball] Asbury defeats Bearcats

0 90

Brescia University went on the road to play Asbury University on Tuesday and lost 79-74.  The Bearcats got off to a slow start shooting 38 % from the field in the first half to trail by 12 at halftime.   The Bearcats fought back and when Tristen Murray hit a deep three point shot with 12.7 seconds left the Bearcats were down by 2.  After Asbury hit 1 of two free throws Brescia had the basketball but turned it over to end the game.  17 turnovers overall in the game hurt their chances for the come back.  Noah Cunningham however was a bright spot in the loss.  Cunningham set a new career high scoring 20 points on 8 of 11 shooting.  "Noah played very well and stepped up when we needed him the most.  He did more than score for us he defended and was very active on both ends," stated Head Coach Brian SkortzKayode Daboiku added 18 point and 17 rebounds as well for the Bearcats who drop to 9-4 in the RSC Conference.  Brescia Hosts rival Alice Lloyd College on Saturday at the Moore Center.
