[Football] Wildcats in the NAIA Polls
MARION, Ind. – Four Indiana Wesleyan University programs are currently ranked in NAIA Top-25 Coaches’ Polls. Men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and women’s swimming are all in season and ranked No. 16 or better. Baseball is receiving votes in the preseason poll prior to the start of their season in February.
MEN’S BASKETBALL – No. 3
Indiana Wesleyan moved up one spot to No. 3 in the January 8 edition of the national poll. IWU is 16-3 this season following a 79-72 win over Grant Country rival Taylor (Ind.) on Tuesday night in Luckey Arena, its 15th straight win in the series. Indiana Wesleyan has the longest active streak in the poll with 78 consecutive appearances.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL – No. 16
The Wildcats stayed steady at No. 16 in the new poll released January 8. IWU is 13-6 this season and has won eight of their last 10 games. In Crossroads League play, the Wildcats are 6-1 and tied for the league lead with No. 8 Marian (Ind.).

WOMEN’S SWIMMING – No. 4
Indiana Wesleyan ranks fourth in the NAIA in the pool. IWU moved up eight spots from No. 8 in the December 13 edition of the rankings. The next poll is scheduled to be released on January 17. Indiana Wesleyan is back in action this weekend at the Centre Colonel Classic on January 11-12 in Danville, Kentucky.

BASEBALL – Receiving votes
The Wildcats received votes in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll that was released on November 6. The first regular season poll will be distributed March 5. The Wildcats open the 2019 season on February 8-9 with a four game set vs. St. Xavier (Ill.).
