Win/Loss Predictions for Games 21-30

0 13

Sooo, I was kind of looking out for Kilgary's new post on his predictions for the next round of 10 games... but game 21 is tonight and I haven't seen anything as of yet, so I thought I'd take a crack at predicting the outcome of the next 10 games and do a compare and contrast when/if Kilgary does post his predictions (I'm also a huge fan of his pics/gifs so here's to hoping he does make a post)

OK, so the Lakers have lost 2 in a row and with Rondo out for probably another couple of weeks and both Josh Hart and Lonzo nursing ankle tweaks, the Lakers look a bit out of rhythm right now. Add to that the fact that LBJ has slowly been taking more and more control of the offense which slows down our pace quite a bit and we now have a little bit of a different Lakers team on our hands.

That being said, our schedule is still looking fairly favorable with 7 of the next 10 games coming against teams currently out of the playoffs or right on the fringe (Mavs), so there is still an opportunity to win a number of these and aim at a top 4 seed after these next 10 games.

Tonight against the Pacers: Win

Ok, so I probably would have marked this one as a loss if the Pacers were at full strength but with Victor Oladipo listed as doubtful, I suddenly feel like we have the edge. Obviously, having Lonzo in the game would go a long way to making me feel even more confident with my prediction but here's to hoping we snap our two game losing streak tonight instead of extending it.

November 30th against the Mavs: Win

Oh boy, I had to think long and hard about this one; not only is this the second of a back-to-back for the Lakers, but the Mavs are looking real good right now, winners of 3 in a row and looking to climb that West ladder after a fairly slow start. That being said, I like how we defended them last game and although we nearly let that one slip away in the last quarter (kind of our motto right now....) I still feel like BI will be able to slow down Doncic enough to give us the edge. Two in a row baby!!

December 2nd against the Suns: Win

One of our strengths so far this season (with the exception of that damn Orlando team) has been taking care of business against inferior teams, this should be no different. Let's not let D.Book light us up and steal this win. 3 in row!!

December 5th against the Spurs: Win

I refuse to let the Spurs win again after two very close losses. We've defended better than when we first took them on early in the season and Lebron is getting into his groove, here's to tying our longest winning streak of the season at 4!!

December 7th at the Spurs: Loss

Ok, so while the Lakers fan in me is saying - make it 5 in a row, MAKE IT 5 IN A ROW, I don't think the Spurs are going to let us beat them twice in a row and in their own building. While we enjoyed the thrilling ride of winning 4 in a row, we get a bit of a dose of reality and go 4-1.

December 8th at the Grizz: Loss

Oh boy, second game of a back-to-back AND we go up against the grit and grind of the grizz, it's not looking great. While I'm hopeful the excruciatingly slow pace the Grizz play at favors Lebron's style of basketball and helps him get 50, this one is looking like one of those "scheduled losses". We lose 2 in a row

December 10th against the Heat: Win

The Heat will be looking for revenge, allowing Bron to have his best game of the season, but Lebron will be right there with the Mutumbo finger wag - not in this house!! We get back to winning and snap our 2-game losing streak.

December 13th at the Rockets: Win

This one will be tough to gut out, but I'm looking forward to the energy we'll bring going up against the Rockets after the wonderful fist fight and spit-gate that occurred earlier this season. I'm taking the W and sprinting out the building before anyone realizes what happened.

December 15th at the Hornets: Loss

Kemba is literally walking on water right now and going up against the Lakers will be no different. I'm expecting a show down between LBJ and Kemba sprinkled with a couple Lonzo dunks on the miniature bulldog but still lose a close one in Charlotte.

December 16th at Washington: Win

Let's be honest: the Wizards are a pretty bad team right now (even if they've won a couple solid games) and may very well look completely different by the time this game rolls around. That shouldn't phase us in any way as we should take advantage of a team with bad chemistry. Even though this is the second of a back-to-back after a tough loss to Kemba, LBJ steps on the Wizard's throat and makes it 7-3 on this 10 game stretch.

So there you have it, I'm hoping the Lakers end this stretch with an 18-12 record tied for 4th in the West. While some of these will be close games, I'm expecting the Lakers to continue to grow and slowly get back to full strength expecting them to find their rhythm as we end this 10 game stretch and take on some tougher opponents the following 10.

Let me know what you think in the comment section!!
