[Women's Basketball] Edens Earns Second Straight KCAC Defensive Player of the Week Honor

WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University senior forward Laramie Edens has been chosen as the KCAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive time, the league has announced.

Edens was a defensive terror in the Falcons' 67-58 overtime victory at Ottawa University last Tuesday night (Nov. 20).

The Ada, Okla. native had a game-high 15 rebounds, including 11 defensive boards, along with five blocks and four steals.

A defensive stalwart all season, Edens is averaging a double-double, leading the Falcons with 12.8 points per game and 10.6 rebounds.

Edens is tied for second in the league and eighth in the NAIA in rebounds, while ranking 11th in the KCAC in points.  She is also tops in the league and fourth in the nation with three blocks per game.

The Falcons, under first year head coach Heather Howard, are next in action Thursday evening (Nov. 29) at York College. Tip-off will be at 6 pm in York, Neb.
