Stanford basketball games among latest sports cancellations due to air quality
Stanford moved two NCAA soccer games to Salinas and canceled two basketball games this weekend, given lingering smoke and deteriorating air quality in the Bay Area.
Friday night’s men’s basketball game against Wofford was canceled, the school announced. So was Sunday’s women’s basketball game matching No. 7 Stanford against Ohio State. Neither game will be rescheduled.
Also, two second-round NCAA women’s soccer games scheduled for Friday were moved from Stanford to Rabobank Stadium in Salinas. Wisconsin will play Hofstra at 5:30 p.m., followed by Stanford squaring off against Mississippi at 8 p.m.
As of now, the winners will meet Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Cagan Stadium on Stanford’s campus.
