[Men's Basketball] Knights Edge Bryan for First AAC Win

LAURINBURG, NC - The St. Andrews University men's basketball team won their first conference game of the season on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Bryan College 85-66.
A close first half saw the Knights trail by one, 35-34, going into the break as Bryan College was able to outshoot the St. Andrews with a shooting percent of .424 compared to SAU's .387.
St. Andrews returned from the break with energy and were able to battle hard against the Lions of Bryan College. The Knights controlled the entire second half, as Bryan was unable to keep up with the fast-paced game that St. Andrews played. St. Andrews' largest lead against Bryan was 21 points, right before the end of the game.
Four players scored in double-figures for the Knights as they shot 60 percent in the second half and 50 percent overall including 37 percent from three-point range. St. Andrews also brought down 16 more rebounds than the Lions.
Senior guard Warren Vinson (SR/Rock Hill, SC) put on a quality shooting display in this AAC matchup as he scored a season high 25 points on 8 of 13 shooting and 2-4 from 3-point range along with a team-best of 7 assists and 5 steals.
Senior guard Andrew Rodriguez (SR/ San Juan, Puerto Rico) then scored 18 points with a team-best of 8 rebounds and a steal on 7 of 10 shooting while sophomore guard Isaac Clay (SO/ Newport News, VA) had 12 points and 3 assists. Junior Luis Rossi (JR/ Sao Joao, Brazil) then had added 10 points witch 6 rebounds to help guide the offense to the win.
St. Andrews improves to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in the AAC. SAU will next be in action next Tuesday when they make the trip to AAC foe, Milligan College, at 7:30 p.m.
