The new acting AG has some extremely basic #sports takes
A man who could help shape the nation’s future also has strong opinions about Iowa football and Tim Tebow.
On Nov. 7, Matt Whitaker was named the acting Attorney General of the United States after Jeff Sessions’ resignation. He is now in position to make very important decisions about the fate of the nation. One look at Whitaker’s Twitter account, also reveals he’s got some very, VERY basic opinions about sports, folks. We went through his account to find the most ... regular? ... ones.
Some backstory on Whitaker in general: he graduated from Iowa, played football for the Hawkeyes in the 1990s, and even appeared in the 1991 Rose Bowl between the Hawkeyes and Washington Huskies.

But back to his sports takes, which he’s got plenty of:

Tim Tebow
Am I the only one that, if I owned a NFL team, would trade for @TimTebow ?

Football in general
As much football as I have been watching, what do I do with all the time outside of football season?

Same, tbh.

The Chicago Blackhawks, and sports in general, for mental health.
I am watching Blackhawks play hockey instead of Iowa playing basketball. It is for my mental health.

I like watching these west coast hockey games before I go to bed. Great way to relax.

Golf
Perhaps the most heated of categories here.
The problem is you can't have a great finish if you don't know the score! #USOpen

I agree! Golf Magazine=fake news; their advice never improved my golf game. I still can't hit out of the sand! https://t.co/h9UjcNvWIY

Sports Refreshments
Which of Whitaker’s teams do you think drove him to this particular purchase?

Whitaker might be a little busier now with his new job. It’s a role that comes with an incredible amount of responsibility, including some big decisions. There’s about a one-year gap in Whitaker’s Twitter history, after which he stopped dipping so frequently into the sports takes for some reason.
(By the way, if you’d like to learn more about who Whitaker is beyond his goofy sports takes, you can read more about him courtesy of our friends at Vox).
