World Series 2018: Everything you need to know about the Dodgers-Red Sox Fall Classic
Previews, recaps, highlights, updates, and more from the Dodgers-Red Sox 2018 World Series.
The 2018 World Series features the Dodgers taking on the Red Sox, and we’ll be covering it all at SB Nation MLB. We’ll have previews, highlights, recaps, news, game stories, #takes, and more throughout the Fall Classic. The World Series began on Tuesday, October 23 in Boston’s Fenway Park, with Dodgers’ ace Clayton Kershaw taking on the top Red Sox pitcher, Chris Sale in what should have been one of the great Game 1 matchups in recent history, but instead became a battle of the bullpens — a battle the Red Sox won. The Dodgers are back in the World Series for the second year in a row after winning Game 163 and the NL West, defeating the Braves in four games in the NLDS, and then besting the Brewers in a decisive Game 7 in the NLCS. The Red Sox defeated the 100-win Yankees in the ALDS and the 103-win — and defending champion — Astros in the ALCS to earn their second World Series berth of the decade.
Game 3 of the World Series will air on FOX on Friday, October 25, with first pitch at 8:09 p.m. ET. Rick Porcello takes the mound for the Red Sox, with Walker Buehler starting for the Dodgers.
