[Women's Soccer] UNOH Tabbed to Win Women's Soccer Title
For the second consecutive season, coaches around the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) picked UNOH as the preseason favorite to win the league title. The Racers, with eight first-place votes, have won a share of the last four conference championships, winning outright in 2014, 2015, and 2017 and tying for the crown in 2016. The winner of the regular-season receives the WHAC's first automatic berth to the 2018 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round. The preseason poll is conducted using a ranking of all 12 teams submitted by each head coach.
Siena Heights picked up two first-place votes in the second slot while last year's runner-up Madonna was picked third. Aquinas also garnered two first-place votes at the fourth spot. Concordia and Cornerstone were picked at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, to round out the top half of the poll.
Cleary is making its debut in the league after becoming full members on July 1. IndianaTech has the first match of the year on Aug. 18 against Bethel while the WHAC opener league-wide is Sept. 21-22.
