Cavs, Larry Nance Jr. reportedly having ‘ongoing talks’ about contract extension

Will the big man be in Cleveland for the extended future?

The Cavaliers are reportedly discussing a contract extension with Larry Nance Jr.’s representatives.

Jordan Schultz of Yahoo Sports reported the talks:

In their rebuilding phase, the Cavs certainly seem interested in making Nance Jr. a key piece going forward. He arrived in Cleveland at the February trade deadline and quickly made an impact.

Notably, in the Cavs offense he seemed to get more comfortable expanding his shooting range. During the last season with L.A., he shot jut 26.9 percent on shots between 10 and 16 feet away from the rim. With Cleveland, he upped that percentage to 54.5 percent.

While he was hampered by a hamstring injury near the end of the regular season, Nance Jr. still averaged 8.9 points, seven rebounds and one assist in 24 regular season games for Cleveland.
