All-time series is split betwee the AL & NL, 43-43-2

The 2018 MLB All-Star Game is Tuesday night at Nationals Park in Washington D.C., with the American League looking for a sixth consecutive win over the National League in the midsummer classic.

Fox will televise the All-Star Game for a whopping 18th consecutive year and 20th overall. Joe Buck and analyst John Smoltz, an eight-time All-Star in his playing days, will call the action. Reporters Ken Rosenthal and Tom Verducci will report during the game from the dugouts.

Online coverage is available through Fox Sports Go and fuboTV.

Pregame coverage starts at 7 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1, with studio coverage from host Kevin Burkhardt and an analyst trio of Alex Rodriguez, Frank Thomas and David Ortiz that combined for 29 All-Star appearances themselves.

The broadcast shifts to Fox at 7:30 p.m., with the game scheduled to start shortly after 8 p.m.

Boston Red Sox ace Chris Sale is an All-Star for the seventh straight season, and he will start for the American League for the third consecutive season, just the third player to do that in the midsummer classic.

“The competition is the best. I mean, you look at both of these lineups and up the best hitters on the planet in these lineups,” Sale said on Monday. “You definitely have to have your stuff together and go out there and just compete.”
