NL Central division rivals meet in St. Louis
The Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals resume their National League Central rivalry with a pair of nationally televised games this weekend from Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
Both Chicago and St. Louis are looking up at the moment in the division at the Milwaukee Brewers, though the Cubs entered the weekend winning 12 of their last 17 games and are just 1½ games out.
The Cubs and Cardinals will be televised by Fox on Saturday (8 p.m. ET), then by ESPN on (8 p.m.), the latter with the ‘Sunday Night Baseball’ crew of Matt Vasgersian, Jessica Mendoza, Alex Rodriguez and Buster Olney on the ball.
The Saturday game will be beamed to 50% of television markets in the U.S., with Joe Davis, John Smoltz and Ken Rosenthal on the call. The other two Fox games on Saturday are the Boston Red Sox and Seattle Mariners, to 35% of the country with Aaron Goldsmith, A.J. Pierzynski and Jon Paul Morosi calling the game, and the San Francisco Giants visiting the Los Angeles Dodgers, with Kevin Burkhardt and Eric Karros calling the game to 14% of the country.
The Mariners lost Thursday’s series opener to Boston, but that was just the third loss in Seattle’s last 15 games. The Red Sox enter Friday with the best record in baseball at 48-22, a gaudy 111-win pace.
Saturday’s Fox games are available online through Fox Sports Go, while the ‘Sunday Night Baseball’ game on ESPN are streamed online through Watch ESPN.
