0

LEWISTON, Idaho - The UNOH baseball team held 1-0 lead after an inning in an elimination game against Antelope Valley (Calif.), but the Pioneers scored nine runs over the next three innings for a 15-4 decision at the Avista-NAIA World Series.  The loss ended the Racers season at final record of 43-20.

Misael Lebron gave UNOH the 1-0 advantage in the bottom of the first as he drove the first pitch he saw over the fence in left for his sixth home run of the season. Antelope Valley, however, took the lead for good with four runs in the second and added three more in the second and two in the third to go up 9-1. The Pioneers later added a run in the sixth and five in the seventh.

Northwestern Ohio rounded out its scoring with three in the eighth as Jose Paulino singled in the first run and Junior Gomez  followed with a two-run homer to left. Jack Barrie, Erich Gonzalez, Paulino and Myles Miller each had two hits for the Racers.
