Mikaela Shiffrin Hosts Ski Day, Offers Coaching to Colorado Girls at Copper Mountain

0 18

This past weekend, Copper Mountain, Colorado, welcomed the GOAT to their slopes for an event that worked to empower the next generation of skiers.

That's right: on April 11, the winningest ski racer of all time, Mikaela Shiffrin, spent her day skiing, coaching, and skill-building with a group of 30 girls at the Colorado ski area.

The event was put on by Chaffee County, Colorado-based non-profit, elevateHER. Founded in 2017, elevateHER works to provide young women opportunities to cultivate resilience, fortitude, and mental and physical strength through outdoor adventure and mentorship. Monthly programs provide participants with gear, food, and transportation to activities such as rock climbing, skiing, paddleboarding, and more, fostering community, growth, and education for young women.

Shiffrin, who most certainly demonstrates resilience, fortitude, and mental and physical strength, helped to host the day as part of 'The GOAT Gives Back' initiative through the Share Winter Foundation.

On snow, Shiffrin took laps with the group, shared ski tips, coached beginner skiers, and ran drills with more advanced skiers.

Off snow, participants were able to spend more time with Shiffrin, who answered their questions, shared stories, and signed autographs. Shiffrin also brought her gold medal from the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games to give the group a chance to see it up close.

The Share Winter Foundation works to expand access to skiing and snowboarding by supporting youth participation in the sport. Coupled with the initiatives of elevateHER, Shiffrin's day at Copper Mountain helped to provide education from one of the best skiers in the world and build confidence in a supportive, fun environment.

Aside from the event venue, Copper Mountain also provided lift tickets, rentals, and gifts to participants. Further support and event transport were provided by Oakley, IKON Pass, and TOGETHXR.

Shiffrin also recently raised nearly $500,000 for Share Winter Foundation and hopes to raise $1M for the organization next.
