76ers vs. Celtics 2018 live stream: Time, TV channel, and how to watch Game 2 online
Can the under-staffed Celtics pull off another win?
The Boston Celtics will host Game 2 of their second-round matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night. Boston surprisingly holds a 1-0 series lead despite being without Gordon Hayward, Kyrie Irving or Jaylen Brown. The team won Game 1 handily, 117-101, behind the scoring efforts of rookie Jayson Tatum, backup point guard Terry Rozier and Al Horford.
Those three combined for 83 points to outlast Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons’ team. Horford had 26 points on just 12 shots from the field, Rozier had 29 points, eight rebounds and six assists, and Tatum had 28 points on 16 shots. Can that unlikely trio prevail again? They may have to with Brown as a game-time decision. He’ll come off the bench if he’s cleared.
The Sixers will need more from Robert Covington in Game 2. The sharpshooter was anything but with just three points in the first game, missing all six shots he took from the field. Dario Saric had just 12 points on 11 shots too.
Embiid was himself with 31 points, 13 rebounds and five assists, J.J. Redick had 20 points on 13 shots and Simmons had 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists, though on seven turnovers.
“It starts on defense. I thought I was sh*tty,” Embiid said according to ESPN. “I thought we were all bad tonight. That’s not who we are, definitely. I think when everybody’s on, we’re the best defensive team in the game. There’s a lot of stuff that we game-planned that we didn’t execute.”
They’ll look for redemption on Thursday.
