Best available undrafted free agents, 2018: Plenty of NFL talent left!
There’s PLENTY of talent still on the board.
On the third and final day of the 2018 NFL draft, all eyes were on Central Florida’s Shaquem Griffin. The best story of the draft this year, Griffin waited until the fifth round when the Seahawks took him with the 141st pick.
Griffin wasn’t the only intriguing name still on the board when teams started picking on Saturday. The third day of the draft also featureed a lot of good wide receiver prospects, starting with Equanimeous St. Brown of Notre Dame. He, Marcell Ateman of Oklahoma State and Auden Tate of Florida State are all big targets who can make plays on the outside.
Then there was Michigan defensive tackle Maurice Hurst. Flagged for a heart condition at the NFL Scouting Combine, and since being cleared, Hurst was been free falling. His situation was like when the Atlanta Falcons stole Grady Jarrett in the fifth round. If Hurst truly doesn’t have a health issue, he can be the 2018 version of Jarrett.
The Raiders finally called Hurst’s name in the fifth round with the 140th pick, one spot before Griffin.
As for the players left, there are lots of good linemen and defensive backs left from the top 200 list. We’re keeping track of all the UDFA moves here.
