Raptors vs. Wizards updates and highlights from Game 3

0

Toronto leads best-of-seven series, 2-0.

First the Toronto Raptors got the Game 1 monkey off their back and now, after two wins at home look to take a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Washington Wizards as their first-round NBA playoff series shifts to Washington D.C. for Game 3.

Toronto had lost 10 straight Games 1 before beating Washington in the series opener last Saturday, then jumped out early and cruised to a Game 2 win on Wednesday.

DeMar DeRozan leads the way with 27 points per game for the Raptors, who averaged 122 points per contest in the first two games of the series. Kyle Lowry has been more of a facilitator on offense with just 19 total shot attempts in the first two games, averaging 12 points but also has dished out 10.5 assists so far in the series.

John Wall is averaging 26 points per game for the Wizards in the series, but Toronto has done a good job in limiting Bradley Beal to 14 points per game on 39 percent shooting.

“We’re going to have to do a lot of good things to win,” Wizards coach Brooks told the Washington Times. “We don’t have to play perfect, but we’ve got to play with great effort. We’re going to have to do a lot of things defensively, that we’ve done in spurts, but we’ve got to do it with more consistency. And we have to knock in some shots along the way.”
