[Men's Basketball] Chargers Fall to Red Wolves in Elite 8

The No. 11 Briar Cliff men's basketball team suffered a 76-68 loss to No. 1 IU East in the Elite Eight at the Samford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota this afternoon. Today marked the Chargers third Elite Eight appearance (1978-79, 2015-16, 2017-18) and it was the second time the Red Wolves dashed the Charger hopes of a Final Four appearance as IU East also knocked the Cliff out of the 2016 tournament in the Elite Eight (83-31). The Chargers struggled from beyond the arc, hitting 13.8 percent and only hitting one triple after intermission. The Red Wolves claimed a 42-32 advantage in the paint. Briar Cliff finished the season with a 26-8 record, while IU East will advance to the Final Four with a record of 34-2.
