[Men's Basketball] Ancilla tops Muskegon CC in overtime to advance to District 9 Championship

Muskegon Community College pushed the number two Ancilla College to overtime but the Chargers answered in overtime to advance to the NJCAA District 9 Tournament Championship on Saturday by a score of 94-88. The Chargers (29-2) led by four at halftime but the teams exchanged the lead 12 times in the second half and overtime. Ancilla went up six with 1:52 left in the second half when Teyon Scanlan hit a three points shot to make the score 83-77. Muskegon then went on a 6-0 run to end the half, capped by a Sergio Diaz layup with 19 seconds to tie the game. Tyler Chisom had a three points shot rattle off the iron to end regulation. Muskegon opened the overtime with a 5-2 run that was highlighted by a Daryl Kirkland II three pointer with 2:01 left to give the Jayhawks (16-14) an 88-86 lead. Scanlon tied the game with a pair of free throws with 1:11 left, he hit a three pointer with 32 second left to give the Chargers the lead for good.
