Class B girls: Voorheesville holds off Tamarac

Troy Rebecca Clair and Emily Burke have been teammates for seven years so it was only fitting, in their final go-round for the Voorheesville basketball team, the senior guards led the Blackbirds to a Section II title. Clair and Burke each had 16 points and led a clutch performance from the foul line by Voorheesville as the sixth-seeded Blackbirds won a thriller with a 51-46 win over Tamarac on Saturday in the Class B championship game at Hudson Valley Community College. Voorheesville opened the game with an 8-0 run before Tamarac responded with the next nine points before taking a 13-11 lead after the first period.
