As Arizona suffers from scandal fallout, Stanford hopes to snap streak
As of Wednesday night, it wasn’t known if embattled head coach Sean Miller would lead No. 19 Arizona against Stanford Thursday night at the McKale Center.
Miller is battling for his job in the wake of an ESPN report that he was caught on an FBI-wiretapped conversation discussing paying star freshman Deandre Ayton $100,000 to ensure he signed with the Wildcats.
Ayton, a candidate for Player of the Year in college basketball, is still playing, but star guard Allonzo Trier remains out. Trier was suspended last week after testing positive for Ostarine, the same performance-enhancing drug that resulted in his 19-game suspension last season.
