Tamarac grads starring for St. Thomas Aquinas

Jenna Erickson is having a big season with the St. Thomas Aquinas women's basketball team. The 5-foot-4 senior guard has led the Spartans to an 18-3 overall record and a 10-1 mark in the East Coast Conference.

Erickson, from Melrose (Tamarac High), was named ECC Player of the Week last Monday after scoring 17 points with four rebounds and four assists in a 64-50 over Queens on Jan. 24 and 16 points, four rebounds and seven assists in a 79-40 triumph over Molloy last Saturday, both league contests.

On the season, Erickson is leading the team in scoring (15.3), has hit 58 of 134 3-point attempts (43.3) and she's scored double figures in 20 of 21 games. She also averages 3.6 rebounds a game and leads in assists with 99 and has 41 steals.
