The Eagles couldn’t get out of their own way on this fumble, but they scored anyway
The Eagles needed momentum and got it after almost losing it.
On a third-and-goal from the 2-yard line, the Eagles handed the ball off to Corey Clement. He fumbled the handoff from Nick Foles, who would end up recovering the football, and dove into the end zone, which officials called a touchdown:
Clement fumbled when he ran into Mack Hollins, who was blocking on the play.
After review, the touchdown was overturned, and the Eagles would go for it on fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line. Foles handed it off to LeGarrette Blount, and they scored a touchdown anyway:
The touchdown gave the Eagles a 6-3 lead with 10:28 to go in the second quarter after looking stagnant on offense for most of the game up until that point. They had already had one fumble by Jay Ajayi and nearly had a second in the first quarter on the following possession.
