PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (3-10, 1-6 G-MAC) lost to Lake Erie College (6-5, 3-3 G-MAC) 63-58 at Osborne Center on Saturday.

Lake Erie jumped out to an 11-2 lead in the first quarter … 3-pointers from Kacie Wallace (JR/Corydon, KY) (JR/Corydon, KY) and Callie Hackett (JR/Carthage, TN) (JR/Carthage, TN) cut the deficit to 11-8 before Lake Erie hit a three to take a 14-8 lead after the first quarter … Brianna Bryant (SO/Athens, TN) (SO/Athens, TN) hit a pair of 3-pointers to open the second quarter for the Trojans … McKenzie Kilburn (SO/Summertown, TN) (SO/Summertown, TN) tied the game at 16-16 with her jump shot … Lake Erie then went on an 8-0 run … a three from Jessica Richards (FR/Barrie, Canada) (FR/Barrie, Canada) and a layup by McKenzie Kilburn had the Trojans trailing 30-21 at halftime … the Trojans opened the second half on a 7-1 run, cutting the Storm lead to three (31-28) … the Storm led 44-30 at the end of  the third quarter … the Trojans cut the Storm lead to 10 (46-36) with eight minutes to play in the fourth quarter … Callie Hackett's two made free-throws cut the deficit to five (51-46) with less than five minutes to play … Callie Hackett and Brianna Bryant hit deep 3-pointers to get the Trojans into the game late …. down three points with 20 seconds remaining, the Trojans were called for an offensive foul … Kayla Gabor hit a free-throw to seal the 63-58 win for the Storm.

Trevecca shot 29.2 % (19-65) from the field, while LEC hit for 41.2 % (21-51) ... Lake Erie outrebounded Trevecca 43-38 … LEC led in assists 10-9 … in blocks 6-0 … Trevecca led in steals 12-6 … and also in second chance points 6-2.

The Trojans will be back in Trojan Fieldhouse to face Malone University (3-5, 1-3 G-MAC) on Thursday, January 4th at 6:00 PM for a Great Midwest Athletic Conference game. This will be the third meeting between Trevecca and Malone in the NCAA era. The Trojans are 0-2 versus the Pioneers all-time.
