Andy Reid celebrated the Chiefs’ AFC West-clinching win dressed as Santa Claus
Children, do not be afraid of Andy Claus, he is here to pass out wins.
Andy Reid’s Chiefs clinched the AFC West title on Christmas Eve by beating the Dolphins. So of course the veteran head coach was going to celebrate.
As Andy Claus.

Reid surprised his team by barging into the locker room for a post-game pep talk dressed as jolly old St. Nicholas, here to pass out game balls and good tidings to all the players on his nice list — including an AFC West Champion commemorative ball to Chiefs’ CEO Clark Hunt. Reid even kept the outfit on as pushed on to the team’s postgame press conference.

There are plenty of reasons for Reid to be merry, but the biggest is his team’s second-straight division title. Kansas City fell into a de facto three-way tie after a mid-season skid left the club at 6-6, but three straight wins, over the Raiders, Chargers, and Dolphins, has pushed the Chiefs back into the playoffs where a dangerous core can make some real noise.
We’ll see if he dresses up as Baby New Year next week when his team faces the Broncos on New Year’s Eve.
