Stephen Curry out indefinitely with a sprained ankle
It sounds like he’ll be just fine.
Warriors fans can finally exhale now. Stephen Curry has been ruled out indefinitely with an ankle sprain, but an MRI on Tuesday afternoon revealed that there was no structural damage done, according to a report from The Vertical’s Shams Charania.

Curry rolled the ankle in the fourth quarter Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans after he became the youngest player ever to make 2,000 3-point field goals. The Warriors’ star point guard was able to walk off the floor under his own power, but it still didn’t look good.

This is the same right ankle Curry had previously had surgery on, which only amplified the concern among fans and the organization.
However, it seems that after a few weeks of rest, Curry may be just fine.
Will the Warriors be OK without Curry?
They’ve got enough All-Stars in hand without Curry and should have enough chemistry together to hold down the fort. While that’s true, though, it’s still hard to say what effect losing their offensive linchpin will have.
Curry only missed three games for the Warriors last season. In those games, the team went 2-1 and were blown out by 22 in their only loss to the Spurs. This will be the first significant stretch that the Warriors have missed Curry since signing Kevin Durant, but they should be fine.
Should we be concerned about Curry going forward?
His ankle injuries have presented problems in the past, but the Warriors and Curry have been good about being preventative and maintaining a clean bill of health over the last few years aside from that stretch in the 2016-17 postseason where he injured his ankle and eventually his MCL.
Does that necessarily mean anything? Probably not. Sometimes health just comes down to dumb luck. Injuries happen sometimes, and you’ve just got to deal with them the best you can. By shelving Curry over the next couple weeks, the Warriors are doing their best to manage the situation. We’ll see how it works as the season goes along.
