[Men's Basketball] Mechanics Bounce Back With Consolation Game Victory

Taking on one of the top ranked NJCAA colleges in Region XIX with an undermanned roster yet again, few people would have given Williamson much of a chance against Roadrunner Classic host Rowan College at Gloucester County in the opening round of the tournament.  To the surprise of almost nobody, Williamson fell to the Roadrunners by a score of 81-57 on Friday night to drop to the consolation round.  What might have surprised some however is the performance the Mechanics put on in the consolation round on Saturday as they played one of their best games of the year in upsetting Bronx Community College by a score of 71-61, to take home third place in the tournament.

Williamson ran into a buzz saw on Friday night as they fell behind early to RCGC and could never recover.  The consolation game was a different story and as Williamson used a balanced scoring attack to move to a big second half lead, before withstanding a big run by Bronx to come away with the win.

Ryan Carlino (SR/Lancaster, PA) led Williamson in scoring against Bronx and was named to the All-Tournament team.  With the split, Williamson moves to 3-6 on the year.  They return home to take on Luzerne County College on Tuesday night, Harrisburg Area Community College on Thursday and then SUNY-ESF on Sunday.
