Watch an animated retelling of Kevin Durant’s famous Rucker Park game

Kevin Durant’s 66 point game at Harlem’s Rucker Park is legendary, and was depicted in animated form by GQ

It’s been over six years since Kevin Durant lit up Rucker Park. The park in Harlem, New York, is the most famous outdoor court in the world, known for legendary street basketball performances.

In the summer of 2011, Durant, then with the Oklahoma City Thunder, took a flight to New York to play at the iconic court. His arrival was unknown by seemingly everyone except streetball legend and former NBA player Jason Williams, who convinced Durant to come play.

What happened next was one of the greatest moments in Rucker Park history: 66 points from the young NBA star, and a bevy of highlights on both ends of the floor.

After naming Durant “Champion of the Year”, GQ decided to retell the story of that special August night. They made an awesome video chronicling the night, complete with narration from KD himself.
