ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Reinhardt University is the narrow favorite to win the 2017-18 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) women's basketball championship, according to the AAC coaches' poll released Thursday.

The Lady Knights will selected to finish 11th out of 13 teams in the new poll as SAU has almost a brand new team this year returning just 2 from last year's squad. SAU hosts a scrimmage on Nov. 4 at 2:00 Pm before getting underway Nov. 10 at home at 5:30 PM.

Reinhardt was one of three teams to represent the AAC at the NAIA Division II National Championship Tournament last year as it received an at-large bid. The Lady Eagles finished 2016-17 with a 27-7 overall record and went 18-4 in the AAC.

Receiving four first-place votes, Reinhardt tallied 151 total voting points to edge out Milligan atop the poll. Milligan (23-10 overall, 18-4 AAC), which won the AAC regular-season last year and advanced to the national tournament also, garnered three first-place votes and 149 voting points. Point (23-7 overall, 16-6 AAC) collected four first-place votes and is third overall with 137 points.

Rounding out the top five are Tennessee Wesleyan (129 points) and Bryan (116 points). Bryan won the 2017 AAC Tournament and advanced to the national tournament along with Reinhardt and Milligan.

Here is the complete breakdown of the poll:
