Uruguay vs. Bolivia 2017 live stream: Start time, TV channel, and how to watch World Cup qualifier online
Tuesday’s game is a mere formality for Uruguay.
Nothing but a complete disaster could keep Uruguay from qualifying for the 2018 World Cup at this point. But they’ll still prefer to take matters into their own hands and clinch their place in Russia by avoiding defeat to Bolivia at home on Tuesday.
Uruguay has 28 points, good for second place in CONMEBOL, and their plus-10 goal differential is almost insurmountable. They would need three results to go against it — and one by a massive margin — in addition to a loss to fall into fifth place and the intercontinental playoff.
But even if the other dominoes fell perfectly, it’s tough to see Uruguay losing on Tuesday night. Bolivia has not avoided defeats in any of its road games during this qualifying cycle and has not won away from home in World Cup qualifying since 1993.
Expect Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani to put up some goals against Bolivia and secure their country’s place in the World Cup.
