Texas' only 1st-half TDs vs. Maryland were both by the same non-offensive player
Holton Hill is, quite literally, doing it all for the Longhorns.
Texas coach Tom Herman’s Austin debut is not exactly lighting the world on fire. At halftime, Maryland’s up 30-14, But the 14 have been the work of one young man, DB Holton Hill.
On Maryland’s third offensive play of the game, Hill took full advantage of a tip-drill to bring a 35-yard pick-six to the house. It put the Horns on the board early.
But Hill wasn’t done. After Poona Ford blocked this field goal (with one hand) ...
... Hill was again there to clean up the tipped garbage and run it all the way back.
All told, Hill has nearly 100 total yards of offense, or whatever it is you call what he’s doing today. It’s his second career pick-six, the first coming in his freshman year against Oklahoma State. Texas’ offense hasn’t exactly been bad, but the Horns haven’t punched it in. Maybe Hill can suit up on offense?
