Cody Latimer on the outside looking in, fantasy potential unrealized

0

The Broncos receiver is likely going to be looking for a new job. We break down the fantasy implications.

Denver Broncos receiver Cody Latimer looks like he’s going to be traded or released, according to insider Troy Renck. Latimer has been with the team the past three seasons.

Fantasy impact: A promising second-round pick in 2014, Latimer has just 16 catches in his NFL career. Those catches equate to 158 yards. It’s easy to see why the team should move on.

Latimer will likely end up on a practice squad and perhaps get signed as a depth replacement once the season is underway and teams have racked up injuries. He’ll be looking for work until that happens and certainly won’t get it in Denver.

Looking forward to the season, the Broncos do offer a pretty balanced attack through both the ground and the air. Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders will no doubt lead the team’s receiving corps. It also looks like former Kansas City Chiefs workhorse Jamaal Charles will join C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker in the running game.

An impressive veteran lineup like that certainly has no room for Lattimer. Fantasy owners can do the math from here.
