[Women's Basketball] Rio finishes 9th in WBCA Academic Top 25

    ATLANTA, Ga. - The University of Rio Grande finished ninth among NAIA schools in the 2016-17 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls recently announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
    Head coach David Smalley's squad posted a grade point average of 3.568 and was the only school from the River States Conference on the list.
    The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA and junior/community college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2016-17 season is the 22nd in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
