Texans rookie RB D’Onta Foreman arrested on drug, weapon charges
The Texans said they are aware of the developing situation.
Houston Texans rookie running back D’Onta Foreman was arrested early Sunday morning and charged for possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon, according to the Austin American-Statesman’s Brian Davis. Foreman, who attended the University of Texas, was arrested on campus by university police.
Foreman was able to post bond, which totaled $1,000 for the drug charge and $3,500 for the weapons charge. He was released around noon on Sunday.
Campus police responded to a report of the smell of marijuana coming from three separate vehicles parked on campus. Officers found marijuana in each of the vehicles, and a firearm in one. Foreman, the owner of the firearm, was taken into custody. The other occupants of each vehicle were charged with possession of marijuana and released.
Foreman was a third-round selection by the Houston Texans in the 2017 NFL Draft. The team issued a statement via Twitter.
