Lionel Messi's wedding is bizarre and incredibly lavish

0

Lionel Messi and Antonella Roccuzzo are getting married on Friday in Argentina, and the occasion is just as lavish and amazing as you ever imagined. The couple have known each other since they were 5 years old, and no expense is being spared to celebrate their love.

Where is the wedding?

The City Center hotel and casino in Rosario will host the event with over 200 security guards on hand. A giant screen is being erected outside the venue so fans can share in the ceremony.

Who’s attending?

The guest list is a who’s-who of soccer superstars, famous guests and celebrities. Shakira will be in attendance with her boyfriend, Gerard Piqué, who plays with Messi for Barcelona. In addition, she will be the musical guest for the reception.

In addition to players, the entire Barcelona support staff has been invited. Every trainer, masseuses, equipment manager and more has been invited to fly to Argentina, though it’s unclear who is attending.

Finally a total of 160 reporters will be on hand for media around the world.

What are they eating?

Good question! A wedding this big has to have some good food, right? Yeah — it does.

You KNOW things are good when your vegetarian option is a dang sushi station.

What do you get the Messis as a wedding gift?

This is a good question that would be impossible to work out if you were invited. Thankfully the couple made it easy. According to Goal.com they simply want donations to Messi’s charity organization in lieu of gifts.

How good a team can we make out of the guest list?

I asked Zito Madu of SB Nation to take Messi’s incredible list of superstars and put together the best team he could.

4-3-3

Ter Stegen

Dani Alves, Gerard Piqué, Carles Puyol, Jordi Alba

Sergio Busquets, Xavi, Angel Di Maria

Neymar, Samuel Eto'o, Leo Messi

A combination of Guardiola's and Enrique's Barcelonas. Reuniting Puyol with Pique, Messi and Alves and adding Di Maria in the center, a position that saw him reinvented and led to Real Madrid winning the CL before he left for Manchester United.

Let’s see the photos!

No photos of the ceremony have come out yet, but there are a few of guests arriving for the festivities.
