Nationals draft Trey Turner, not to be confused with Trea Turner

Too many Turners!

As the MLB draft progresses, we can’t help but make some interesting observations.

First of all, congratulations to Trey Turner. But Nats fans might also recognize his name because it sounds ... slightly familiar.

The Nationals already have a Trea Turner! Trea went to NC State and made his debut in 2015. Trey Turner, should he accept, might not get called up to play right away. But once he does make it up, he and Trea could be on the field at the same time.

Twitter user @GJGXXV pointed out that this could make things difficult to differentiate on the field. Perhaps Trea and Trey would both need their full names printed on their jerseys?

If we might be so bold as to make a suggestion, the Nats should just print their first names on the jerseys, like so.

This won’t help with the issue of saying their names aloud on the PA system, but it’s the best we can do, short of making one Trea/Trey change his name.
