[Baseball] Tigers will take part of Donate Life Friday
Life is precious, something Georgetown College baseball alum Trent Martin not only grasps but values. He saw his very active, athletic life style be thrown for a loop several years ago when he was diagnosed with leukemia. Through treatment he got better and has made a full recovery, but knows his story is a rare happy note against this disease. However, his touch with it did motivate him to find ways to educate and raise awareness for how others can help.
Leukemia is a type of cancer that battles the blood cells. One of the best methods to combat it is through bone marrow transplants. Bone marrow matches are rare, generally are found inside family members, but have been known to exist in unknown matches.
