Morning Briefing: Clayton Kershaw Officially Says Goodbye to Baseball

Good morning, Mets fans!

Sunday marked the true end of an era in the baseball world. Per MLB, Clayton Kershaw was removed from Team USA’s roster in exchange for right-handed pitcher Jeff Hoffman. With being removed from Team USA, Kershaw officially says goodbye as his professional baseball career comes to an end.

Kershaw did not make any outings for Team USA besides an exhibition appearance against the Rockies.

He finished his MLB career with a 2.53 ERA over 2855 1/3 innings.

  • Puerto Rico 6 – Italy 8 – Nick Morabito came in in the top of the ninth to play the last inning in left field for Italy. He caught the final out of the game to advance Italy to the semifinals.
