NBC Sports Philadelphia reportedly eliminates Phillies sideline reporter role
NBC Sports Philadelphia has eliminated its sideline reporter role, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Rob Tornoe, meaning Taryn Hatcher will not be part of the channel’s Phillies broadcasts in 2026. Tornoe reports Hatcher’s contract with the network expired at the end of 2025 and was not renewed.
Hatcher had become a staple of NBCSP’s Phillies home broadcasts over the last few seasons after joining the network in 2018. As the third member of the broadcast team for most home games, she’d report from various parts of Citizens Bank Park, including the Phillies dugout and the concourse.
As Tornoe notes, Hatcher is one of a few different sideline reporters who’ve been let go from NBCSP in recent years.
No other changes appear to have been made to the rest of the network’s Phillies broadcast team. Tom McCarthy will remain on play-by-play, with John Kruk, Ruben Amaro Jr. and Ben Davis as analysts. Cole Hamels, in the broadcast booth nine times in 2025, will also return, according to Tornoe.
Before the regular season begins, NBCSP will broadcast 16 of the Phillies’ 30 spring training games.
