Former Phillies and Angels pitcher Hans Crouse has an agreement on a minor-league deal with the Baltimore Orioles, a source told Phillies Nation on Thursday. He’ll be a non-roster invitee to spring training.

The right-hander was acquired by the Phillies in 2021 when the team flipped former top prospect Spencer Howard and two minor leaguers for closer Ian Kennedy and starter Kyle Gibson. Crouse was also sent to the Phillies in the trade and made two big-league starts later that season.

Crouse spent the next two seasons in the minor leagues for Philadelphia before signing with the Angels for the 2024 season. He had a solid showing out of the bullpen for Los Angeles, posting a 2.84 ERA in 25 outings. He started 2025 in Triple-A, but was released by the Angels in April. Crouse later said on social media that he had suffered a torn lat muscle. He has been documenting his recovery and work back from the injury in the time since.

After nearly a full season away, Crouse will have another chance with a new organization in 2026 as the 27-year-old joins the Orioles.
