Morning Briefing: Red Sox Could Make ‘All-Out Pursuit’ For Alonso
Good morning, Mets fans!
Josh Naylor‘s five-year contract with the Seattle Mariners has been finalized at $92.5 million according to Jeff Passan of ESPN. Naylor’s contract sets the market for Pete Alonso, which now figures to be somewhere in the same range years wise.
Jon Morosi of MLB Network said, regarding Alonso, that if the Red Sox are unable to retain Alex Bregman, they would be one of the strongest non-Mets contenders for the slugger.
“Either they bring back Bregman or they make an all-out pursuit for Pete Alonso,” Morosi said in the clip.
