PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — As sports fans across the country gear up for the World Series, a recent report from WalletHub ranks the best baseball cities.

Analysts compared 330 U.S. cities using 31 metrics to find the best place to be a fan of America's favorite pastime. Factors included things like the performance level of the city's teams, ticket prices and stadium accessibility.

New York topped the list of overall best baseball cities, with two major league teams earning the highest average franchise value in the country. It also has one minor league team and six Division 1 NCAA teams, which is more than any other city in the country.

Los Angeles was ranked as the second-best city for baseball fans, as it also has two MLB teams. The city is also home to four Division 1 NCAA teams, which is the second most in the country.

Atlanta came in third place for best baseball city, followed by St. Louis and Boston.

Eugene, Oregon, home of the Eugene Emeralds and Oregon Ducks baseball teams, landed in the 31st spot. Corvallis was ranked at 87th. Portland landed near the bottom, in 254th place. However, Portland's ranking would likely go up in future rankings if an MLB team does come to Portland.

Despite having a minor league team, Hillsboro was 317th.
