Morning Briefing: Alonso Launches Three-Run Homer In All-Star Game
Good morning, Mets fans!
The 2025 All-Star Game featured a wild comeback by the AL, erasing a 6-0 deficit before falling short in a “swing-off.”
Pete Alonso launched a three-run opposite-field homer in the sixth, becoming just the third Met, and the first since David Wright in 2006, to go deep in the Midsummer Classic. David Peterson tossed a scoreless inning, while Francisco Lindor went hitless in two trips to the plate. Edwin Díaz entered with one out and a runner on in the ninth and was tagged with a blown save after a squibber off the bat of contact machine Steven Kwan found grass.
